Environmental management built for the construction phase. Practical, compliant and delivered on your programme.

Most environmental problems on a project do not start as environmental problems. They start as a missed condition, a plan that was written to tick a box, or a control that was never checked after it was installed. By the time the regulator is involved, the cost is no longer environmental. It is programme and reputation.

AES provides environmental management services for construction and infrastructure projects across Australia. We prepare the plans your approval requires, put the controls in place on site, and keep the evidence that proves you complied.

Featured Project

Environmental & Landowner Advisor for Transmission Line Maintenance

Runcorn to Eight Mile Plains, Queensland

Applied Environment & Safety provided onsite environmental and landowner support for this tower maintenance project located within the southern suburbs of Brisbane.

This required managing project works adjacent to sensitive areas such as Bulimba Creek, major motorways and within residential backyards.

Environmental support for this project included development of Site Based Management Plans and operational checklists. Ongoing environmental monitoring and liaison with nearby residents was undertaken during the abrasive blasting and painting works. Then supervision of the clean-up of the work sites and rehabilitation for project closure.

What Are Environmental Management Services?

Environmental management services cover the planning, controls, monitoring and reporting that keep a project compliant with its environmental obligations from pre-construction through to handover. That includes the management plans required under development and environmental approvals, the on site controls that put those plans into practice, and the audits and records that demonstrate compliance to a regulator or principal contractor.

It is a delivery discipline rather than an assessment one. The approvals work establishes what a project is permitted to do. Environmental management is how that permission is honoured once the machinery arrives on site.

Our Environmental Management Services

Applied Environment & Safety delivers environmental management across the construction phase, from the plans your approval requires through to the monitoring and records that prove you complied.

Environmental Auditing and Compliance Audits

Independent, evidence based environmental audits of your site, your systems and your approval conditions. We tell you what is actually happening on the ground, rank the findings by risk, and give you corrective actions your team can close out.

Erosion and Sediment Control Plans (ESCP)

Site specific erosion and sediment control plans that work on the ground. Staged to match your construction sequence, designed around the receiving environment, and built to survive a wet season rather than just satisfy a submission.

Environmental Management Plans (EMP)

Environmental management plans written to be used, not filed. Condition specific and aspect based, structured around the decisions your site team actually makes, with clear controls, triggers and responsibilities.

Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMP)

CEMPs prepared for approval and built for the site. We work from your approval conditions and construction methodology so the plan gets accepted by the regulator and still makes sense to the people delivering the work.

Environmental Compliance and Monitoring

Compliance managed through delivery. Inspections, environmental monitoring, records and reporting handled week by week, so the evidence exists before anyone asks for it and corrective actions get closed out.

Why Environmental Management Matters

Approval conditions have become more specific and more actively enforced. Regulators and principal contractors expect documented plans, named responsibilities, monitoring records and closed out corrective actions. A project that cannot produce that evidence is exposed, regardless of whether any actual harm occurred.

The commercial risk sits in the programme. Stop work notices, non conformances and re work are expensive because of the days they cost, not the fines they attract. Getting the environmental management right early is far cheaper than defending it later.

Industries We Support

Applied Environment & Safety provides environmental management support for organisations and complex projects across a range of industries.

Why Work With Applied Environment & Safety

We work in the construction phase. That is a deliberate focus. Our team has delivered environmental management on live sites, which means the plans we write reflect how the work is actually sequenced, resourced and supervised rather than how it reads on paper.

We write documents that people use. A management plan that sits in a folder protects nobody. Ours are structured around the decisions a site team actually makes, with the controls, triggers and responsibilities set out clearly enough to be followed under pressure.

What is the Rehabilitation Hierarchy? A Guide to Land Rehabilitation and Environmental Management

Rehabilitation is often viewed as the final stage of a project, something that occurs once construction or operations have ceased and equipment has been removed. In reality, effective rehabilitation begins long before the first disturbance occurs. The most successful rehabilitation programs are guided by a rehabilitation hierarchy, a structured framework that prioritises avoiding impacts wherever…

FAQ’s

Common questions from project teams about environmental management.

What is the difference between environmental planning and environmental management?

Planning and approvals establishes what a project is permitted to do and secures the approval. Environmental management is the delivery side: preparing the plans the approval requires, putting controls in place, and evidencing compliance while construction is underway.

Do we need an environmental management plan if we already have approval?

Usually yes. Most development and environmental approvals include a condition requiring a management plan to be prepared and implemented before works begin. The approval grants permission. The plan sets out how you will meet its conditions.

Can AES support a project that is already underway?

Yes. We are regularly brought in mid project, whether to close out an audit finding, replace a plan that is not working on site, or cover a gap in environmental resourcing.

Do you work outside Queensland?

Yes. We support projects across Australia, and we align documentation to the relevant state legislation and approval framework for each project.
