Sustainability consulting to support infrastructure, energy, government and corporate organisations across Australia.

Sustainability consulting to support your organisation

Sustainability is no longer a reporting obligation. It is a commercial imperative, a regulatory mandate, and a core component of project approval, investment decisions and licence to operate.

Applied Environment & Safety (AES) provides sustainability consulting services to infrastructure projects, developers, energy companies, government agencies and asset owners across Australia. We help organisations translate sustainability obligations and commitments into practical outcomes: from strategic frameworks and emissions reporting through to climate risk assessment, regulatory compliance and project-level sustainability management.

Our approach is direct and commercially focused. We do not add unnecessary scope or complexity. We work alongside your team to identify what matters, deliver what is required, and help you move forward with confidence.

Practical sustainability advice. Clear deliverables. No unnecessary complexity.

Why Sustainability Matters Now

Australia’s sustainability regulatory environment is changing rapidly. The Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (ASRS), effective from January 2025 for large entities, introduce mandatory climate-related financial disclosures for the first time. The NGER scheme continues to expand its reach. Infrastructure clients, major project financiers and government procurement processes increasingly require demonstrated sustainability performance as a condition of doing business.

Typical applications include:

  • NGER reporting and compliance management
  • carbon accounting and emissions inventory development
  • sustainability reporting under GRI, ASRS and ISSB frameworks
  • materiality assessments and sustainability strategy development
  • sustainability management plans for construction and infrastructure projects
  • climate change risk assessments and decarbonisation strategies

For organisations that are unprepared, these changes represent significant compliance risk. For those who move early, they represent a competitive advantage in procurement, financing, talent attraction and stakeholder relationships.

Industries We Support

Applied Environment & Safety provides sustainability consulting support for complex projects and organisations across a range of industries.

Why Work With Applied Environment & Safety

We deliver sustainability consulting services that are practical, focused and directly useful for decision-making. Our team understands that most organisations need clear outcomes rather than lengthy strategy documents, and that sustainability work must integrate with project schedules, reporting cycles and commercial realities.

We work across sectors including infrastructure, construction, mining, energy and government, bringing technical depth in emissions accounting, regulatory compliance and sustainability reporting. Our work is grounded in current Australian regulatory requirements and international best-practice frameworks including GRI, ISSB and the ASRS Standards.

We also practise what we preach. AES is a certified carbon neutral organisation. We measure and offset our own emissions each year and have been through the process of becoming certified carbon neutral ourselves. When we advise on carbon accounting, reporting and certification, it is grounded in first-hand experience, not theory.
